About Me

I'm Julia from the West Midlands.  I am the creator and owner of High Seamstress.

My website shows a whole bunch of products that I create that combines my love of books and fabric into handcrafted items that feed my soul.

I have always been a very creative person although not always being able to explore my creative journey.  Now is my time, my time to create, fulfil my dream of creating for a living and appreciate other things in life.

At 56 I quit my 20 year career in the NHS to pursue a creative life that brings me joy. I was extremely burnt out from a demanding role that I whole hearted put all of myself into and gave a lot of my time. 

Now I put a lot of me into my small business and spend more time with my family that brings my so much joy!

This year has also seen me do more in person markets than I have ever done and I want to experience has many different events as possible.  The interactions with customers and the joy my items can bring creates my happy place.
